If you are a beginner or restarter, then this is the perfect place to begin your journey into the world of playing the saxopophone.
In this course, we start at the very begining with taking your sax out of the case and putting it together.
From there, you will learn how to make your first sound, and gradually learn all of the fingerings & notes.
As an added bonus, you will also learn how to read music and rhythms as well as learn your first songs on the sax.
You will be able to work through this course in one month, and be well on your way to making your saxophone dreams come true!
LEARNING THE BASICS!
This is the most popular starting place in the Sax School.
In this course, we will unravel some of the mysteries of playing the sax, and you will hear HUGE improvements in your playing pretty quickly.
You will learn TONS of popular melodies, all of your major scales, and get your fingers moving fast & clean with the Chop Shop Technique Series.
We will also be laser focused on locking in all of the basics on the sax: embouchure, tonguing, breath support, intonation, tone, and much more.
If you are looking for structured progress while learning the sax… this is where it starts!
The Pathway To Creativity!
In this course, we will focus on playing the music that ISN’T written.
You will learn how to personalize songs through a technique called Ad Libbing.
You will also get a much deeper understanding of how to shape phrases through the use of goal notes, dynamics & articulations.
And the most exciting part of this course… we will dive into the world of improvisation. You will learn how to make up solos from scratch.
In addition, you will also learn how to read chord symbols, get your fingers moving even faster and cleaner, as well expand your knowledge of scales and theory.
This Pathway is your first step into creating your own music.
SUPER SIZE YOUR STYLE!
In this course, a strong emphasis is placed on personalizing the music you create.
We will dive deep into improvisation, where you will learn how to develop your improvised solos, and work your way through more complex chord changes.
You will learn more songs & further develop your ability to personalize melodies.
And there is an entire section dedicated to the “unwritten rules of articulations” that will teach you to phrase like a pro.
Music is all about expressing yourself, and in this Pathway Course you will learn how to really make the notes and rhythms come to life.
CREATING YOUR VOICE!
In this Pathway, a strong emphasis is placed on creating your own unique voice on the sax.
It’s not only the notes you play, but how you play them, and in this course we will explore several advanced techniques and pro tips to help you unlock your true potential.
In this course, you will learn how to use chromaticism and music language to make your solos and melodies more interesting by going well beyond the regular scales & chords.
We will also dive deep into some Charlie Parker transcriptions, as well as unlock the altissimo register (high notes) of your saxophone.
This course will open your mind & ears to what is possible on the saxophone!

In this course, we start your improv journey at the beginning and progress all the way through advanced concepts.
In this course, you will master playing along with backing tracks, while learning 15 popular songs.
This course is laser focused on getting the sound of the pentatonic scales under your fingers and in your ears.
This course takes you from sounding your first altissimo note, through mastery of the upper range of your sax.

ULTIMATE ALTISSIMO
This course takes you from sounding your first altissimo note through mastery of the upper range of your saxophone.

IMPROVISATION
In this course, we take you from one note solos all the way through developing solos over complex chord changes.
AD LIBBING
In this course, you'll learn how to personalize a melody by adding dynamics, notes, articulations, and feeling to it.
SAX BASICS
In this course, we take it back to the basics and concentrate on the fundamentals of playing the sax.
SCALES
In this course, you will learn & organize 6 different types of scales: major, minor, mixolydian, dorian, aeolian & 2-5-1 scales.
JAZZ STYLE
In this course, you'll learn the unwritten rules of jazz articulation & master the art of ad libbing.
FUNK STYLE
In this course, we show you step by step how to play funk grooves & solos, while learning 10 classic funk songs.
PENTATONIC LICKS & PATTERNS
This course is laser focused on getting the sound of the pentatonic scales in your ears & under your fingers.
POP PLAY ALONGS
In this course, you'll play melodies with a backing track at an intermediate level.
BEBOP CHOP SHOP
In this course, you'll play technique exercises in a bebop jazz style over jazz standards.
